Each Protocol Team at the MTN is responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day oversight of network studies. These studies are developed through multidisciplinary collaboration among MTN investigators, the Leadership and Operations Center (LOC), the Statistical and Data Management Center (SDMC), the Laboratory Center (LC), the Biomedical Science Working Group (BSWG) and the Community Working Group (CWG); and, as applicable, with non-MTN investigators, researchers and experts who bring complementary expertise.
The membership of each Protocol Team varies according to the specific protocol. Individual protocol team members have different roles in fulfilling specific team responsibilities, but all members similarly provide scientific, operational and/or site-specific input to team activities.
